NICCOLA GIANNONI known as PIVINO
Grandson of Niccola Giannoni, known as "il Piva" (hence the nickname "Pivino"), who founded his workshop in 1932, the young artist learned sculpting from his craftsman father, Giuseppe. After attending the Art School of Carrara, he entered the world of sculpture while also continuing the family business. There, he worked with, among others, with Jean Iposteguy (until 1978), Fernando Botero, and Igor Mitoraj (upon their arrivals in Italy), Novello Finotti (1983), Augustin Cardenas (1990), Ugo Riva (1995), Giuseppe Bergomi (1990), and Giuliano Vangi (1996).His personal exhibitions include: Spazio Arte Landucci, Ripa di Seravezza (2000); CCLR, Pietrasanta (2001); Terme San Carlo, Massa (2002); Palazzo Tori Massoni, Camaiore (2002); Valiani Art Gallery, Pistoia (2002); Piagnaro Castle, Pontremoli (2002); Galleria Europa, Lido di Camaiore (2003; 2005); Luca Ricci Gallery, Spoleto (2007); Piazzetta del Duomo, Pietrasanta (2007).His works are permanently at the Landucci Design Megastore in Ripa di Versilia, and in private collections in Italy and abroad (Switzerland, Korea, Japan).He works in his studio in Pietrasanta and uses the Fonderia Da Prato.
